Jaguar Racing has revealed a ten-race calendar for the first season of its new Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY which will kick off in December.
The series, which uses identical race-prepared Jaguar I-PACE electric SUVs, will support the ABB FIA Formula E Championship at nine race weekends across its 2018-19 season.
It will get underway in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Dec. 15 and will support Formula E at all but three of its events.
Teams will take part in a pre-season test at Silverstone later this month to take delivery of their cars and run them for the first time.
“Seeing Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY racecars line up on the grid in December will be a proud and historic moment for Jaguar, and spectators can expect plenty of action from the races,” commented championship manager Marion Barnaby.
“As we travel to some of the world’s most exciting cities we’ll be bringing a new kind of electric street racing to the public and inspiring the next generation of electric vehicle owners.”
Races will last for 25 minutes plus one lap and will take place before each weekend’s Formula E race.
Jaguar has also confirmed Sabelt as a technical partner to provide seats, seatbelts, steering wheels and head protection nets.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing is currently the only team publicly committed to the series, with Katherine Legge and Bryan Sellers confirmed as its drivers.
There will be no I-PACE eTROPHY race on the Jan. 26 Formula E weekend, which is likely to be held in Santiago, thus avoiding a potential clash for Legge and Sellers with the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
