Eric Granado will start both of this weekend’s FIM Enel MotoE World Cup races at Valenica from pole after going quickest in Friday afternoon’s E-Pole session.

The Avintia Esponsorama Racing rider set a best time of 1:40.615 to go clear of championship leader Matteo Ferrari by 0.341 seconds. Bradley Smith will start alongside them on the front row from third position.

Granado was the third-from-last rider to head out for his qualifying shoot-out lap and went to the top of the timesheets, displacing early pacesetter Jesko Raffin.

The final two riders – Ferrari and Smith – both went quicker than Raffin but couldn’t match Granado’s time.

Ferrari currently had 73 points with 50 up for grabs between the weekend’s two remaining races. Second-placed Hector Garzo is 19 points down, while Smith sits third, a further five points behind.

With Ferrari and Smith on the front row, Garzo will start both races from fifth, one position behind Raffin.

Race 1 is set for 4:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. EST) on Saturday.
