A team featuring support from ABB FIA Formula E Championship outfit ABT won the RCCO’s 24-hour slot car race at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg last weekend.
Team NEXGENracing’s ABT Vision RCCO finished with a 75-lap advantage over a Joest Racing-entered car, with several famous racing drivers amongst the field.
One of the winners was former German rallycross driver Robert Mueller while the team benefitted from support from ABT Sportsline’s Harry Unflath and Hans-Juergen Abt.
Mueller shared the car with Gine Peters, Christian Wilke and Alan Fauvel, with the latter two winning for the first time and Peters picking up her fifth win in the 24-hour event.
Frank Biela and Mike Rockenfeller also took part in the race, while the cars represented electric sports car concepts including models from Audi, ABT, KTM, Lamborghini, Schaeffler and Volkswagen.
Next year’s race is set to include AI-piloted cars alongside the standard entries, with applications open for teams to design autonomous slot cars.
