Sebastien Loeb will compete in two Trophee Andros events this season as part of his own team’s two-car program for the newly electrified French ice racing championship.
The nine-time FIA World Rally Champion will race at Val Thorens (Dec. 7-8) and Super Besse (Feb. 1) and replaced for the remaining four rounds during December and January.
Sebastien Loeb Racing will field two electric silhouette cars for the full season, but it is yet to reveal which bodywork it will compete with.
SLR follows on from previous two-car commitments from DA Racing and Sylvain Pussier Competition with lineups including Nico Prost and Nathanael Berthon.
Sylvain Pussier Competition is also yet to reveal what car style it will use, although DA’s two entries for Prost and Jean-Baptiste Dubourg will be Renault Zoes, carrying support from Renault France.
Loeb made a guest appearance in last season’s Trophee Andros finale at Stade de France, partnering Franck Lagorce in one of three electric Andros Sport 01 cars entered.
“I had a lot of fun with the whole team at the close of the season at the Stade de France last year,” Loeb explained.
“Convinced by the performance of electric cars, I look forward to taking the start of these two rounds that will also allow me to keep the pace of the competition on this upcoming season.”
