Ex-Formula E driver Salvador Duran will drive the VIP Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY car in the second round of the Formula E support series this weekend.
The Mexican driver will appear at his home circuit for the first time since the season two Mexico City E-Prix when he finished 15th for Team Aguri.
Duran competed in 12 ABB FIA Formula E Championship races through the first two seasons, all of them with the Aguri operation in its various guises, and also competed briefly for the Trulli team in 2015.
“I’m excited to get behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY car in front of the passionate Mexican fans,” said Duran.
“The series got off to a great start in Saudi Arabia and I’m looking forward to driving this electric racecar for the first time.
“It is great to see Jaguar at the forefront of electric vehicle technology and I can’t wait for Saturday’s race.”
Duran is a former race winner in British F3, Formula Renault 3.5 and A1 GP and was born and raised in Mexico City.
The 33-year-old won the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2007 but has not competed since his most recent Formula E outing three years ago.
The second round of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY race will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. local time (3 p.m. ET) shortly before the fourth Formula E race of the 2018-19 season.
