Archie Hamilton will drive the No. 1 VIP car in the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY round in Paris later this month, Jaguar announced on Friday.
The digital influencer and endurance racer will compete in the French round on behalf of the championship’s official tire supplier Michelin.
He has previously competed in Formula Renault and Porsche Carrera Cup championships, as well as at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Hamilton’s last races were in 2015 when he competed with Gulf Racing and Team SARD Morand in the European Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship.
His grandfather Duncan Hamilton also raced with Jaguar, forming part of the winning lineup at Le Mans in 1953 driving a C-Type.
“It’s a special opportunity to be able to walk in similar footsteps to your grandfather,” Archie Hamilton said.
“It’s amazing to think he competed with Jaguar in the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans and now I’m stepping in to the innovative Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY racecar in Paris.”
“I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and see what electric street is really like; I have watched the previous races, but that is nothing compared to racing the car itself.”
While Hamilton is confirmed for the Paris race on April 27, Jaguar is yet to confirm its VIP driver for next weekend’s Rome race.
