Two-time DTM champion Marco Wittmann will get a test outing with BMW i Andretti Motorsport next month, according to BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt.
Wittmann is likely to take part in the Formula E rookie test in Marrakesh alongside test and development driver Bruno Spengler.
The 29 year-old last competed in international single-seaters in 2011 when he finished runner-up in the FIA Formula 3 Euro Series.
“We have Bruno as part of our whole deal and I think that also at some stage we get Marco Wittmann behind the wheel and give it a go,” Marquardt told e-racing365.
“We have a great lineup but we can also introduce new faces to the whole system because our drivers are a strong pillar of the BMW Motorsport activity.
Bruno Spengler has undertaken several days in the private development test period earlier this year.
The Canadian also conducted a full day with Andretti in last season’s corresponding rookie test in Morocco.
BMW i Andretti Motorsport announced earlier this month that Beitske Visser is also part of its Formula E program.
She joined Alexander Sims in the first in-season test following the Ad Diriyah E-Prix on Sunday.
