Oliver Turvey has been ruled out for the remainder of the New York City weekend due to a hand injury sustained in Free Practice 2 this morning, with reserve driver Ma Qing Hua set to sub for the Englishman in Sunday’s season finale.

Turvey has been withdrawn from Rounds 11 and 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship following an accident that resulted in a fractured left hand.

He was transported to a local hospital in Brooklyn for further treatment after an initial diagnosis at the trackside medical center and missed qualifying.

It has resulted in a 19-car starting grid for this afternoon’s E-Prix, although the stewards have approved a driver change to Hua for tomorrow’s season finale.

The Chinese driver, who made his Formula E race debut in Paris in April, will get his first laps in the No. 16 NextEV NIO Sport 003 in Sunday’s one-and-only free practice session.

Hua’s one-and-only start came in the team’s sister entry, replacing Luca Filippi.
