Sylvain Filippi has been appointed as the Managing Director of DS Virgin Racing following the departure of Team Principal Alex Tai.
The Frenchman took over when Tai left the team early last month and will continue in the managerial role moving forward.
Filippi has been with the team since the inception of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and has previously worked as its Chief Operations Officer and Deputy Team Principal.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity and thank the team’s board and shareholders for their support and trust in me,” he said.
“The current season may be drawing to a close, but we have a lot of exciting work ahead of us to prepare for Formula E’s important fifth season, and the whole team together with its partners and new majority shareholder Envision are very much looking forward to this.”
Chinese renewable and smart energy giant Envision Energy became the majority shareholder in the team earlier this year.
Virgin Racing’s technical partnership with DS Performance will cease following the season finale at New York later this month while Techeetah is set to become the French automaker’s partner team.
Virgin is expected to sign a deal with Audi to use customer powertrains in Season Five, which will get underway in Riyadh in December.
