Techeetah has signed James Rossiter as a new development driver in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship with immediate effect.
The Brit has experience in several open-wheel series and has served as development roles for the likes of Force India, Super Aguri and Honda in Formula 1.
He is currently racing in the Super Formula series and made several FIA World Endurance Championship starts with ByKolles Racing Team in recent seasons.
Rossiter is the latest Techeetah signing following Zhou Guanyu joining the team as a development driver in April and former F1 driver Pedro de la Rosa being named as sporting and technical advisor.
“We’re extremely happy to welcome James to Techeetah,” commented Team Principal Mark Preston.
“He has a wealth of experience from Formula One, Super Formula and really impressed us at the rookie test in Marrakesh earlier this year.
“Having someone with James’ experience to help us with our development is invaluable for us. The stakes are getting higher each season and as we grow as a team, we will be adding talent to our roster, and James is the first of these announcements.”
Rossiter tested with the Chinese team at the Marrakesh rookie test in January alongside Porsche works driver Fred Makowiecki.
Techeetah is expected to announce its Season Five partnership with DS Performance in the coming weeks.
