Preparations are underway for next weekend’s FIA Formula E Championship season-opener in Hong Kong, with grandstands and the first set of barriers going into place at the Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit.
The Dec. 2-3 doubleheader will mark Formula E’s return trip to the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, utilizing an identical 1.155-mile, 10-turn street circuit.
A number of key landmarks, including the Hong Kong Observation Wheel, are featured in the circuit layout.
The race distances for the double-header races next weekend will be 43 and 45 laps, respectively with both races taking place at 3 p.m. local time.
Last year’s event drew a crowd of 30,000 spectators, with local promotion already underway in the city ahead of this year’s round.
