Nissan e.dams will field an unchanged driver lineup of Sebastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland in the 2019-20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship season, it announced on Thursday.
The pair scored six pole positions – more than any other team – throughout Nissan’s first Formula E campaign in 2018-19, while Buemi eventually took second place in the drivers’ standings, finishing the season with four consecutive podiums.
Nissan became the first Japanese manufacturers to enter Formula E last year when it took over the e.dams entry from its Alliance partner Renault.
“Sebastien’s run to second place in Season Five and his attitude as a team player made him an easy choice for our Season Six lineup,” said NISMO global motorsports director Michael Carcamo.
“Oliver proved to be a very fast learner, and we quickly got used to seeing his name at the top of the time sheets. There’s no doubt we have an outstanding driver combination.
“Sebastien went out of his way to help Oliver in his rookie year. For him, it was all about driving the team forward, even on days when Oliver was faster.
“Having Seb bring home our first victory is a moment everyone at Nissan will remember for a long time.”
