Nissan’s first Formula E car will make its Japanese on-track debut in the NISMO Festival at Fuji Speedway just two weeks ahead of the season-opening Ad Diriyah E-Prix.
The car will complete a demo run at the Dec. 2 event alongside a number of other Nissan-related features and attractions.
The run is set to count as one of Nissan e.dams’ three allocated ‘on track’ promotional days and will be limited to 50 km in accordance with the ABB FIA Formula E Championship sporting regulations.
The festival will celebrate Nissan’s six decades of global motorsports participation with over 50 cars, including rally cars, prototypes, GT racers and the manufacturer’s brand-new Formula E contender.
“We don’t have a Formula E race yet in Japan, so we’re thrilled to show its exciting driving to Japanese fans at the NISMO Festival,” said NISMO CEO Takao Katagiri.
“This is a great opportunity for motorsports fans to observe firsthand how Nissan and NISMO’s engineers and drivers learn through racing how to build more passionate cars, featuring Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies that offer our customers excitement and convenience.”
In addition to demo runs, Nissan will also host a historic car exhibition race and driver autograph sessions at the festival.
