The plan for Felipe Nasr to test with GEOX Dragon Racing in Marrakesh today is believed to have been delayed due to contract negotiations between the American-entered team and Nasr’s representatives.
GEOX Dragon nominated the former Sauber Formula 1 driver and reigning IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar champion to run alongside its test and reserve driver Antonio Fuoco today, but Nasr did not run in the first session after contract talks stalled.
It remains unclear the specifics that are keeping the Brazilian, who has been in GEOX Dragon-branded clothing this weekend, out of the cockpit.
Nasr was registered with the FIA on Jan. 4 and spent time in the RS simulator in Monaco last Tuesday in preparation for the test.
Additional negotiations have been ongoing for several days in Marrakesh and the talks continued overnight between both parties as they tried to reach an agreement for Nasr to test today.
However, e-racing365 understands that he will not partake in the morning session in Marrakesh today.
There still remains the possibility of Nasr driving the No.6 Penske EV-3 in this afternoon’s session which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. local time.
