Jose Maria Lopez led the way in Free Practice 2 at Santiago on Saturday morning, finishing ahead of a trio of Audi-powered cars after the 30-minute session.
The GEOX Dragon driver posted a best time of 1:08.194 in his Penske EV-3, going just 0.066 seconds quicker than Robin Frijns in his Envision Virgin Racing Audi e-tron FE05.
Envision Virgin teammate Sam Bird was classified fourth, behind Lucas di Grassi’s factory Audi in third.
The second practice session was free of any major incidents, although some drivers, including Felipe Massa, went into the run-off area while Andre Lotterer had a brief touch with the tire wall.
Sebastien Buemi managed to get back out on track after a crash in Free Practice 1 and was classified 15th in his Nissan IM01.
All 22 drivers set flying laps during the session, with the top 17 covered by a little over 0.7 seconds.
Qualifying is scheduled for 12 p.m. local time ahead of the race at 4 p.m.
