Jamie Green will join Nico Mueller at Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler for the second in-season ABB FIA Formula E Championship test in Marrakesh next month.

The DTM driver confirmed the deal on Twitter and will return to a single-seater for the first time since 2004.

He has been an Audi factory driver since 2013 and has had four top-three finishes in the DTM standings since 2012.

Prior to his DTM career, Green was one of the most promising single-seater drivers, winning races in both British and European Formula 3 competition.

He took the 2004 Formula 3 Euro Series title, beating the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Robert Kubica to the title.

The Marrakesh rookie test will take place the day after the Marrakesh E-Prix, while the final in-season test opportunity, which will be held after the Mexico City E-Prix, will only be open to full-season race drivers.

Audi ran Mueller and Nyck de Vries in Marrakesh last season, and the latter could appear for Envision Virgin Racing next month.

He last drove a Formula E car in September when he tested for NIO.

The only other confirmed drivers for Marrakesh are Jann Mardenborough and Mitsunori Takaboshi who will each get their first extensive running for Nissan e.dams.

Teams have until Friday, Jan. 4 to confirm their driver lineups for the test which takes place on Jan. 13.

The final entry list is expected to be released on the Monday before the test.
