DS Virgin Racing’s Season Four Formula E car, the DSV-03, was launched today ahead of next weekend’s season-opening Hong Kong E-Prix.

The Anglo-French challenger features a new livery in the team’s now familiar purple, red and silver color scheme. The launch coincided with the third anniversary of its maiden win at Putrajaya, Malaysia in 2014.

DS Performance is believed to have made small evolutionary developments on the current powertrain, particularly in software enhancements.

The current powertrain is likely to be the last that DS Performance provide to Virgin Racing before moving to Techeetah, where it is expected to be announced as technical partners for 2018/19. This is likely to be made public at the end of the current season.

DS Virgin head into the season with the series’ first ever all-British driver pairing in Sam Bird and Alex Lynn.

Lynn, who was announced yesterday as a factory Aston Martin driver in the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship, took a debut pole position for DS Virgin at the New York E-Prix last July.

“We have two very strong drivers in Sam and Alex, a quick car and a fantastic, experienced team, so we have all the elements needed to make a real impact in Hong Kong and beyond,” said DS Virgin Racing Team Principal Alex Tai.

“As one of only three teams to have won in every season, for sure, our aim is to continue our winning ways into season four.”

Tai told e-racing365 last month that all options are open to the team for sourcing a new powertrain provider for Season Five.
