Tom Blomqvist will begin the upcoming Formula E season as an Andretti driver alongside Antonio Felix Da Costa but could share the seat throughout the season with Alexander Sims.
Blomqvist and Sims were both revealed by e-racing365 last month to be the most likely drivers to race for the American squad, having both taken part in last month’s official pre-season test at Valencia.
The confirmation of Blomqvist’s selection came on Friday as the FIA released the complete Season Four entry list.
ENTRY LIST: Formula E Season
Blomqvist has raced in the last three seasons of DTM, scoring a victory at Oschersleben in his rookie season. The British driver finished sixth in the championship last year after claiming four runner-up finishes.
The 23 year-old comes to Formula E with a strong street circuit pedigree after finishing second at the Norisring DTM race last year and fifth in the 2014 Macau Grand Prix.
The Andretti team, which will transition into being a full BMW factory effort in Season Five, may still utilize a two-driver lineup for its second car.
It’s believed Sims could make his race debut in Formula E later in Season Four after spending the last 18 months testing sporadically for the team.
Sims nearly replaced Robin Frijns last season after the Dutchman injured himself training ahead of the Monaco E-Prix in May.
