Porsche has revealed the Mission E Cross Turismo, a new concept study of the first electric cross-utility vehicle (CUV) from the German manufacturer.
Launched Tuesday at the Geneva Motor Show, the Cross Turismo is built on the same basic frame as the Mission E sports car, which is slated to go on sale by the end of next year.
It features two electric motors, one mounted on each axle, with the capability of producing 600 horsepower, 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.
Porsche claims the vehicle will be able to go more than 300 miles on a single charge, with its new 800-volt charging system able to add 250 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
The Cross Turismo falls into a similar category as the Tesla Model X and recently released Jaguar I-PACE, in the growing crossover/sport utility vehicle segment.
While production of the Mission E sports car is expected to begin in 2019, a timeline has not been released for the vehicle.
