Peugeot has announced that it will develop a range of electrified sports cars, as part of its long-term strategy in EV adoption that’s set to begin in 2020.
The French automaker, which revealed the all-electric e-Legend sports car concept at last month’s Paris motor show (pictured above), will offer high-performance, low-emission vehicles in collaboration with Peugeot Sport.
It comes on the heels of its withdrawal from the FIA World Rallycross Championship, amid an “uncertain future” on the series’ planned adoption of electric vehicles.
“Driving sensations will be amplified by the performance provided by electrification,” Peugeot brand CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said. “New territories to be explored, new challenges to be met, the adventure of the Peugeot brand continues for an exciting future.”
Details on Peugeot’s new range, which will be rolled out beginning in 2020, have not yet been revealed, although it did recently reveal several new hybrids.
