The Nissan Leaf NISMO will go on sale for the first time on July 31 in Japan after being revealed late last year.
The car, which is based on the new Nissan Leaf, is entirely electric and has been designed by the Japanese manufacturer’s in-house performance division NISMO.
It was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October and will be available to buy in Nissan’s home market on July 31.
The changes to the NISMO version include a custom tuning computer for improved acceleration, new tires and suspension for improved handling and comfort, and a sportier design on both the exterior and interior.
The standard Leaf won the ‘2018 World Green Car’ award at the New York International Auto Show and has five-star safety ratings in both Japan and Europe.
Nissan aims to sell one million electrified vehicles a year globally by 2022.
No word has been made about whether the Leaf NISMO will be released in other markets.
