Veloce eSports has today announced that current ABB FIA Formula E Championship leader and ex-Formula 1 driver Jean-Eric Vergne has become a partner in the world-leading motorsport-focused eSports team.

Already established in motor racing as a driver management agency, Veloce has expanded into eSports to find undiscovered talent and assemble a formidable team of racers.

Vergne joins former International racing drivers Rupert Svendsen-Cook and Jack Clarke, alongside ex-soccer agent Jamie MacLaurin, as a founding partner.

Veloce eSports’ ever-growing stable consists of multiple champions across multiple platforms – PC, PlayStation, Xbox – as well as top-tier content producers and influencers in the field.

Building on this foundation, Veloce eSports is developing a bespoke, unique hub for athletes to train, test, compete and stream online – the first solution of its kind in the motor racing subsection of the sport.

Additionally, the team is set to broach more established eSports such as Fortnite and Call of Duty in the coming months, as it continues its expansion.

“It is a huge venture for me,” said Vergne. “I’ve always been fascinated by eSports and I enjoy watching it, so to now be involved with such an exciting team is mega!

“Being at the forefront now is a big opportunity, not just for us as a team but for fans and players all around the world.”

Veloce eSports Director Rupert Svendsen-Cook added: “We are delighted to welcome Jean-Eric on board. We have remained close friends since being team-mates in British Formula 3, and to be able to renew that partnership with Veloce eSports is fantastic!

“We have exciting plans, and we can’t wait for what the future holds.”
