Lucas di Grassi topped the times with a track record in the second Free Practice session for the Paris E-Prix on Saturday morning while Nelson Piquet Jr. crashed again.

The Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler driver posted a best time of 1:00.881 on his final full 200 kW lap after the session was restarted following Piquet’s crash, in which he hit the barrier damaging both left-side wheels.

The Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver had a similar accent in FP1 and ended up bringing out the red flag both times.

The session was stopped for around five minutes while the Jaguar was collected, before the session got underway for little over two minutes.

Jean-Eric Vergne went second quickest for Techeetah with a time just 0.191 seconds down on di Grassi, while Mitch Evans was third.

Felix Rosenqvist and Daniel Abt completed the top five.

The top 16 cars were classified within one second of each other after several drivers improved their times in the final stages of the session.

FP2 was relatively incident-free apart from Piquet’s collision, with no major problems elsewhere in the field other than a couple of lock-ups and slides.

Qualifying will get underway at 12 p.m. local time.

RESULTS: Free Practice 2
